Silent Design is now a green award winner!
We have been awarded a “Build back better” award in the green category for our work at the BRE HQ in Watford. Our retrofit lighting solution for the linear, track and downlights was praised for a holistic approach which included the upgrading of the lights from fluorescent to LED and the provision for wireless cadambi Bluetooth controls. We also used minimal waste throughout the project and there was no new packaging involved. Everything was recycled as much as possible.

Our latest ceiling / wall light for a customer where head height was at a premium. They wanted a G9 LED lamp, but we went one better! – Custom heatsink and CREE LED chips combined to give 15mm overall less height, increase from Ra>70 to Ra>92, twice the light output and 4 times the lifetime! Worlds thinnest wall light!
We have just designed the Worlds thinnest LED wall light. 25mm thick! We did it using Tridonic replaceable LED boards and remote Tridonic LED drivers. Using a thick aluminium back plate and running the board at a low current we were able to keep the LEDs running at the correct temperatures. These are going into passenger lifts where space is at a premium. Front disc simply screws on and off to change the finish of the product or service the LEDs should you ever need to. Very sustainable!
Casambi install for Cambridge office
Silent carried out the commissioning of the Casmabi lighting controls on this large 500 lighting unit space in Cambridge. Lights were arranged in groups and daylight dimming was applied to the window rows. Each light was labelled individually ready for the CAT B fitout. #casambi #daylightdimming #officespace
Bespoke lighting for large reception area
Land Securities along with Od Group install Silents’ LED lighting in a massive reception area.
Using our PRO Line linear lighting for general lighting and a custom designed LED wall washer product, Silent provided lighting to a Land Securities owned building for their reception. A huge space which saw nearly 80 linear lights and 30 custom made linear wall wash modules. All lighting was supplied with DALI and DALI EMPRO rivers and inverters to allow monitoring and reporting. The end result was a light and airy space and the reduction in energy consumption was close to the 40% mark from the old fluorescents they replaced.
